Services

Foraging Events

Enquire about any upcoming foraging events in the Lancashire area. The events last two hours and they include identification of species, mention of their medicinal and culinary uses as well as folklore, accompanied by a small free guide that you can use to write your own notes in. Snacks are provided. Prices start at £20 per person with children under 16 joining for free. This is a community centered service which means that for every client paying the full amount, there is a free space available for someone who needs it.

Foraging and Wild Cooking Events

Foraging and wild cooking events are designed to bring you in touch with the wild food all around us. The event is split in two- first we will have a two-hour foraging walk that includes identification of species, mention of their medicinal and culinary uses and associated folklore. The foraging walk is followed by a two hour wild food cooking session where we will use our foraged ingredients to create delicious recipes, as well as ferments and preserves where appropriate. We will then enjoy the fruits of our labour together around the table! Prices for Foraging and Cooking events start at £40 per person with 50% discount for children under 12. Private Foraging Walks

In a private foraging tour you can make sure that all the attention is on your/your group and your questions. You pick the area you would like to explore in Lancashire and we hold a two hour foraging tour of that area. This service ensures that by the end of the walk you will know the plants and fungi of the area like the back of your hand! This service is ideal for families with children, as the focus can be on the little ones, as well as people with special needs that need a slower pace or more attention that can be provided in group tours. The maximum number of attendants in a private foraging tour is 5 people. Snacks and refreshments are provided. Price for a two hour private foraging tour is at £50 per person with a 70 % discount for children under 16.

Cooking Workshops

Although the previous services are focused on foraging, this one is all about cooking! With wild or common ingredients, book a space in this two hour cooking workshop that will cover fermentation, canning, dehydration, preserving and cooking, alongside a small booklet with information that you can make your own notes on. You will leave the event with a full belly and a basket full of delicious foods to take home with you. Prices start at £30 for delivering the workshop in your house (2 week’s notice needed), or at £40 if in an external venue. Children can join the workshops at 50% discount.

Testimonials

“Although I have been foraging for years, foraging with Vaso gave me the confidence to identify, gather and use Jelly ear mushroom!”

-Mark

Foraging with Vaso is magical! She has a wealth of knowledge about local plants and uses for them, and picked a picturesque route for us to explore. We learned a lot (from other participants too!) and even came away with a few wild treasures to experiment with at home. Thanks Vaso!” -C
